The popularity of games developed by Blizzard Entertainment make user accounts a high profile target. Especially World of Warcraft, but also games such as Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2 are sought after by hackers, often in an effort to transfer and sell virtual items like character equipment and gold. Not only do hacked users lose items that they have often spend a considerable amount of time gathering but also access to the account itself which often leads to days of uncertainty before account access can be recovered.

Curse.com will break Carbonite

I noted this morning that the Curse updater wants to overwrite my Carbonite install with an older version - one that is very old. If you want Carbonite, go to the Carbonite Web Site, download it directly, and manually install it (instructions are also on that site).

Add-on: Mountiful

Mountiful is a World of Warcraft add-on that manages mounts and companion pets for you. In my add-on line up, it replaces both GoGo Mount and GoGo Pet. Mountiful creates a macro that automatically chooses a random mount (including ground and flying mounts, and druid flight forms) appropriate to the location; that is, it will never try to mount your Armored Gryphon in Ahn'Qiraj, for example. It also allows you to choose to have a random companion pet summoned each time you dismount (and puts that pet away when you stealth). Mountiful is available from Curse.com

Hunter Add-on: Trapper

Add-on for Hunters (or in my case, huntards): Trapper

This addon frees up the use of up to 5 buttons that will not be needed to place your hunter traps. You get a "bar" in the shape of a bear trap that has the five hunter trap buttons on it. The buttons configures itself depending on the rank of traps your character has and the number of traps. IE: A level 1 hunter will just have the bear trap image as you do not yet have any trap spells to cast.


Elvith (Worgen hunter on Nazgrel) is using it.
